As we all know here in Edmonton, the weather here in Alberta and in nearby Saskatchewan is in transition as we ease into cooler weather and Halloween. Every business is in transition as well. As we approach 2014, we are putting a close to a year that indeed has been in transition since January 1. People change. Organizations change. It takes effective leadership and an engaged workforce to team together for positive growth and opportunity.
A strong culture is critical as things change in business. Culture must blend with engagement as employees prosper. An engaged employee contributes more to the bottom-line. These individuals make smarter decisions, solve problems more quickly, and contribute ideas without fear or concern. The risk disappears with empowerment.
Leadership can strengthen organizational culture by valuing people and listening well. It is a long term commitment that affects everyone in the company. But it is well worth the time and effort. Regardless of economic conditions here in Canada, a focused and higher purpose gets the most from everyone and it creates higher quality products and services.
Dale Carnegie Training believes that employee engagement and positive leadership combine to truly make things happen in mission and core values. Everyone lives through the guiding principles they help to make happen every day.
Employees in this type of culture feel more secure with their jobs, have greater hope for advancement, and maintain a positive peace of mind. Although no company or organization is perfect, promoting workplace well-being is critical in 2014. It is an important ingredient in any business. It is probably more important than any other factor for success. Engagement promotes a healthy work environment and it truly improves communication and morale. And climate is just as important as culture for achievement.
The sharing of ideas promotes and improves every facet of the business. It just makes sense to tap the energies of everyone in exchange for prosperity! Keep the business on target with engagement.
